Training “STOP THE BLEED+”

On April 9th, students of the M-40 group, together with the class teacher Alyona Rakovskaya, attended the training “STOP THE BLEED” at the Civil Society Development Center. The training was conducted by instructors from the Tactical Medicine Center “East”, who are certified by NAEMT (US Emergency Medical Service Workers’ Union) at the TSCC level ASM, CLS, MR, ERC (European Resuscitation Council) BLC and PBLS, IMC (International Medical Corps) life support in trauma at the pre-hospital level, etc.

At the training, the students learned about:

  • Personal safety.
  • Legal aspects of providing first aid to the victim.
  • Types of bleeding. Signs of massive bleeding. The importance of timely stopping bleeding.
  • Algorithm for stopping massive bleeding, including in children.
  • Types of tourniquets. The anatomy of a tourniquet and the principle of operation of a tourniquet.
  • The technique of applying a tourniquet of the “SAT” type to the upper and lower extremities during self-help and when helping a victim.
  • The principle and technique of tamponade of bleeding.
  • The practice of tamponade of wounds on simulators.
  • The principle of operation of a bandage with a pressing element.
  • Bandaging technique.
  • The practice of bandaging various types of wounds.
