KZOZ “Kharkiv Regional Medical Professional College” KOR is one of the oldest educational institutions of professional pre-higher education in Ukraine. Its history dates back to 1845 and is the result of the merger of three powerful educational institutions:
- Kharkiv Basic Medical College No. 1 (founded in 1845),
- Kharkiv College of Medical Equipment (1931),
- Kharkiv Medical College No. 2 (1937).
Today KZOZ “KHOMFK” KOR is the largest medical college in the Kharkiv region. The college has 6 departments, where 1096 students and more than 3 thousand cadets study. The college has 237 employees, 114 of whom are teaching staff.
The college has permanent advanced training courses for junior specialists with medical education.

Doctor’s assistant is a highly qualified medical professional, who has the training and skills to provide first aid and apply medical procedures. They provide emergency care for various illnesses, injuries, and other situations that require immediate intervention.
Competences of a doctor’s assistant:
- providing assistance for injuries, fractures, wounds;
- performing medical examinations, conducting physiotherapy procedures;
- collection and evaluation of test results;
- accompanying patients to hospitals.

Qualification: Nurse/Nursing Assistant
A nurse/medical assistant is a highly qualified specialist who provides medical care to patients. They know normal and pathological anatomy, human physiology, the pharmacological action of the most common medicinal substances and methods of their administration, and is familiar with the nature of pathological changes in the patient’s body.
A nurse/medical assistant organizes a high-quality nursing process, perfectly masters the technique of nursing manipulations. Correctly chooses tactics for providing emergency first aid, knows resuscitation techniques. Provides care for patients, prepares patients for various types of examinations, knows methods of rehabilitation and palliative care.
A nurse/medical assistant prepares nursing care plans for a patient, conducts dispensary observation and primary medical and sanitary work. Knows current medical legislation, adheres to the principles of medical ethics and deontology.

Qualification: Midwife
A midwife is a highly qualified medical professional who provides assistance to pregnant women, women in labor and delivery, and postpartum women, as well as care for newborns.
The midwife knows and performs:
- general and clinical examination of pregnant women and newborns and evaluates its results;
- preparing a pregnant woman for childbirth;
- rules for conducting normal childbirth and childbirth in case of various pregnancy pathologies;
- provides assistance in the postpartum period;
- techniques for assisting couples in minor obstetric and gynecological surgeries;
- necessary resuscitation measures during and after childbirth, prevention of bleeding;
- pharmacological action of the most common medicinal substances, their compatibility, dosage, methods of administration;
- obstetric manipulations.

Qualification: Dental technician
A dental technician is a medical professional who specializes in the manufacture of removable and fixed dentures of various designs, orthopedic and maxillofacial appliances.
A dental technician works in dental laboratories, using modern dental technologies to recreate the aesthetics and function of a patient’s dentofacial system.
The work of a dental technician is a synthesis of manual skill and art.
The goal of the work is to improve the dental health and quality of life of everyone who needs dental prosthetics and orthodontic care.
To achieve the goal, the dental technician must obtain the appropriate knowledge and skills:
- know the anatomy and physiology of the dento-maxillary system, to be able to reproduce the anatomical shape of the teeth;
- know the equipment of a dental laboratory and be able to work with it, observing safety rules;
- know the composition and properties of various dental materials and be able to work with them;
- know the technology of manufacturing various dental structures and be able to manufacture removable, fixed prostheses, orthodontic and maxillofacial appliances.
Nursing
Qualification: Nurse / Medical Assistant – specialists in providing high-quality nursing care, patient care, performing manipulations, rehabilitation and palliative care. Possess emergency care skills and adhere to medical and ethical standards.
Medical care
Qualification: Doctor’s assistant – universal medical workers who are able to independently provide first aid, conduct diagnostic measures, medical procedures, work in field teams and medical institutions of various levels.
Obstetrics
Qualification: Midwife – a highly qualified medical specialist who provides assistance to pregnant women, women in labor during childbirth and women in the postpartum period, and also provides care for newborns.
